Earth Day

April 22, 2014 (yesterday) is Earth Day.

Celebrated for the first time in 1970, this event founded by the American Gaylord Nelson aims at encouraging students to develop projects of environmental awareness. Thirty-five years later, in 2005, UNESCO wrote a shattering report that describes the impact of human activities on the planet: an irreversible degradation with disastrous consequences.

This event, celebrated today throughout the world, reminds us of the importance of taking action to ensure future generations a better future. Every gesture counts. Each initiative is good to take. The change is still possible! But we must act now.
